The driving science behind each treatment provided at our Resort is orthomolecular
medicine. The architect of orthomolecular medicine, Nobel Prize laureate Linus Pauling, coined the term in
1968. Double Nobel Prize winner for Peace & Chemistry, Mr. Pauling described orthomolecular medicine as one
that “aims to restore the optimum ecological environment for the body's cells by correcting imbalances
or deficiencies on the molecular level, based on individual biochemistry, using natural substances such as
vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, hormones and essential fatty acids."
Mr. Pauling reduced this to common sense and suggested we “use Ford parts to repair
a Ford.” The aim of orthomolecular medicine is not merely to eliminate disease, but to achieve

Resort Medical Director Genita Petralli H.H.P., N.C., M.H. is a nutritional biochemist and
licensed practitioner who has specialized in orthomolecular neurochemistry for addiction for the last twelve
years. She is now one of the leading scientific influences and clinical outcome leaders in the field she coined
Orthomolecular Neurochemical Rehabilitation (ONR). Her book Alcoholism: The Cause & The
Cure is endorsed by some of the most accomplished addiction and Orthomolecular Neurochemical
Rehabilitation specialists of our time such as Dr. Joan Mathews-Larson of the Health Recovery Center. The
foreword is written by Dr. Abram Hoffer, the legend of this supremely effective medical model which outperforms
all others.
Dr. Abram Hoffer M.D., PhD (psychiatry and biochemistry) created orthomolecular
treatments recognized by private organizations and governments for their success in curing some of the most
challenging schizophrenia cases. Dr. Hoffer has a long history of curing addictions as well using the same
model with variances in nutritional protocols. He worked with Bill Wilson, the co-founder of Alcoholics

The ONR model at our BioSpa & Resort starts with clinically
assisted detoxification and Targeted Nutritional Therapy (TNT). In order to quickly
stabilize the patient and ease withdrawal intravenous and implanted TNT is used to bypass the intestinal tract.
Use of drugs and alcohol always damages the digestive system so bypassing the GI while giving it time to heal
delivers much needed nutrients directly to the blood stream where they can immediately begin tissue repair and
carrying out biochemical processes needed for a smooth and extremely efficient detoxification. This method of
nutrient delivery also helps to quickly stabilize brain chemistry and offers the raw materials the brain needs
to produce the natural neurochemicals the patient once relied on pushed/prescribed drugs and / or alcohol
for.
Orthomolecular Medicine “makes the soil rich” for maximum rewards from our
